About Sarah Newmeyer

I am a licensed clinical social worker/therapist licensed in the state of Nevada with over 13 years of experience. Previously, I held a clinical social worker license in the state of Michigan as well. I have successfully worked with children and families, young adults, veterans and the elderly dealing with varying issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, dealing with end of life and caregiver stressors as well as with the community. Oftentimes, we can feel oppressed and debilitated by issues brought on by these adjustments in life. Finding a therapeutic relationship with someone who validates your concerns, and provides a safe, empathetic sounding board is crucial for managing your issues effectively while working toward freedom from mental and emotional stressors.

My counseling style is interactive, client-centered and compassionate while using psychoeducational materials to assist with prompting discussion and self-reflection. Knowledge is power! It is also my belief that listening is the key to a successful therapeutic relationship. My approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused therapy and Motivational Interviewing to ensure the outcome you wish to achieve is outlined by a person-centered treatment plan with goals based on your specific needs.

“Life doesn’t make any sense without interdependence. We need each other, and the sooner we learn that, the better for us all.” — Erik Erikson
