About Oliver Harper

Hi, my name is Oliver Harper and I possess a wide range of clinical experiences working within residential settings for adolescents; short term acute care facilities as a clinician and consultant with adults and adolescents; worked in various communities of Metro Atlanta providing in-home therapy and maintained a private practice for 15 years. I graduated with an MS in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University; along with attending Seminary in Atlanta and obtained graduate degrees in Leadership and Apologetics. I also attended business school and worked on Wall Street and have undergraduate and graduate degrees in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. I have specialized and certificate training in REBT, Adlerian Psychology, DBT, and Parenting. I primarily use Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy as my primary treatment modality as it is very effective in reducing stress and anxiety while providing pragmatic tools for effective living. Over my professional, life I have had significant exposure to working with traumatized clients and have learnt interventions to address its impact. I have authored two books. I also incorporate Stoic philosophy as a therapeutic intervention in the service of clients.
My therapeutic skill set provides a compassionate inquiry into the lives of individuals challenged with childhood shadows induced by family dysfunction, trauma, alcoholism, anxiety, perfection tendencies, and an overwhelming need for approval and validation. My clinical training will facilitate clients to connect the dots between then and now and integrate the fragmentation at the root of their maladaptive patterns. I am a lifelong learner and have dedicated my life to being of service;I believe in the innate capacity of individuals and their potential to be their own rescue with guidance and to know that there is something distinct, unique, and specific about each of us and my clinical task is to guide each individual to share that belief.
The therapeutic relationship is a sacred trust and it is a privilege to be a witness to the inner world of others and to support them in their discovery, recovery, and integration of their best self. Allow me to journey with you and I promise to be present with you all the way to a better version of yourself by strengthening your identity capital.

“Oliver is amazing.”

“Oliver is amazing. Of the therapists I’ve had in my life time, he is one of the two who I feel have offered more than the sum of their sessions. Such a wealth of knowledge and insight, I can say i’ve grown not just through the conversations we have had but by the incredible literature he has recommended as well. He’s turned me on to books I’d have otherwise never crossed paths with that have not just changed my course, but the course of my family’s lives as well.”

“Oliver is like my pen pal. We talk once a week and he just gets me. He's super relateable and gives me a fresh perspective. 10/10”

“Oliver is amazing, thoughtful, kind, compassionate and wise. He is a master teacher, healer as well as a therapist. I honestly believe he is the single most effective therapist I've had in the last 20 years.”

“Oliver has been consistent, empowering, empathetic and knowledgeable in his field. He has been a safe space and has helped me develop into the best version of myself thus far. I would recommend him to anyone who has experienced any traumas or simply needing help with evolving into a better version. Oliver is beyond awesome to say the least. Give him a chance and you will not regret. Thanks for all you do Oliver!!!”

“Oliver is a very experienced therapist he says what important and has a significant impact during our sessions.”

“Oliver is very professional, but yet compassionate. He is well thought out in his choices of resources that are appropriate at the stage of growth we are going through. Anyone who is assigned Oliver as a therapist is truly lucky.”

“Oliver is very patient and gives good insight to the situation at hand. He is good at giving constructive criticism and is able to explain the situation in an understandable manner.”

“Oliver has been an excellent therapist to my husband and I. We started therapy with a high probability of divorce and have worked towards a happy and healthy marriage with Oliver’s constant guidance and care. We acknowledge that without Oliver’s support, we would have most likely ended our marriage in divorce. He is kind, empathetic, understanding, intelligent, and thoughtful. We are so grateful to him and his expertise.”
