About Norma Robinson

I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of South Carolina. I have 4 years experience working as a counselor and I have focused on aiding individuals of various cultures, religious beliefs, age groups, LGBT and socio-economic backgrounds. I have experience in stress and anger management, management of PTSD and anxiety issues, sexuality, sexual trauma, abuse and natural and man-made traumatic experiences. I have also aided individuals that have suffered from mood disorder and major depression disorder.

My counseling approach is a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. I tend to tailor our treatment and sessions towards the specified needs and goals of the client. My counseling style is very warm, client-oriented and interactive. I work in a manner that is respectful, patient, non-judgmental, sensitive and re-affirming. I tend to seek to empower the client by recognizing his/her strengths and addressing their own copings skills and self-care management. I accept that everyone has their own story and I seek to provide an environment of encouragement and healing so that each person can find their own path to success and inner peace.

When it comes to our mental and emotional health, it is often very difficult to acknowledge that we might need more help that we had previously believed. During this particular journey, work and honesty with one’s self is essential but very difficult. As a counselor, I am here to support and guide you as a you seek to begin to live your best life. Let’s get started.
