About Kathi-Ann Busha

I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor licensed in the state of Utah. I have experience working with children, teens, and families. Some of the concerns that I have worked with clients on in therapy include family conflict, transitioning to adulthood, long-term depression, persistent anxiety, stress, abuse, and trauma. I am an EMDR-trained therapist who has worked with clients who have experienced sexual abuse and sexual trauma. I have experience working with clients with ADHD, on the autism spectrum, and who would consider themselves “quirky”.

My counseling style is open and based around conversation. I help my clients to conceptualize their concerns and problems in a different light, changing the meaning of the stories they tell without changing the facts. I also help clients to develop different skills that can help to manage symptoms of distress in everyday life, such as mindfulness and meditation techniques and thought-changing skills. My counseling style combines EMDR and Narrative therapy techniques with DBT, CBT, and mindfulness skills for a whole-body wellness approach.

I understand how difficult it can be to seek therapy and to find a therapist that whom you connect with. I applaud those who take the first step toward facing their issues and fears and hope that I am able to work with you to live your best life.

“Very personable, engaging when needed, gives alternatives to try.”

“I love Kathi-Ann! She’s real and caring, insightful and a total delight”

“She makes me feel understood and safe”

“Kathi-Ann is an incredible therapist! I feel like she took time to get to know me and my struggles and genuinely wants to see me succeed. She knows when to push and when not to push and gives me homework and action items that really work. I'm extremely grateful for her work!”

“Kathi-Ann has helped me get through the hardest time of my life and has shown me ways to trust myself! Highly recommend”

“Kathi-Ann is amazing! She balances our sessions really well between serious reflection and humor so that I can express and feel my difficult emotions without spiraling in them. She also does really well pushing me when I need it and giving me space to come to understandings on my own when that's the better way. I'm very grateful to have her help while working through my trauma.”

“Kathi-Ann Busha has been wonderful working with my extremely smart neurodivergent teen who can get lost in his head. He doesn't need behavioral strategies and algorithms, he needed someone to really get into his thought processes and help him figure things out. Other therapists would be contentious with him and tell him he was lazy. Kathi-Ann Busha took the time to understand him and where he was stuck and not tell him what to do, but help him understand himself and the situation where he felt empowered to make positive changes in his life. He felt understood.”

“I really like my therapist”

“Kathi-Ann is amazing! I love how she has assignments for me each week that feel doable and that really help me process throughout the week. She's also incredible at balancing seriousness with humor during sessions. I'm grateful for how understanding she is about the nuanced issues I struggle with. Highly recommend!”

“She is great at listening and helping me with my concerns. I feel like she really cares. And she has helped me deal with difficult situations.”

“She has a wonderful personality and is good at what she does and connects well with our kiddo.”

“Really appreciate how she gives me many different ideas and or options on how to deal with triggers. She validates my feelings and has helped me move on from them.”

“I have only had one video session with Kathi-Ann Busha and it went really well. We are still in the early stages but I am confident that she and I will work great together! She is a fantastic listener and offers her expertise. She follows up and takes notes. Would definitely reccommend!”

“Kathi-Ann is an excellent listener and problem solver, even when I ramble on about issues and frustrations she always pulls out the parts that matter to examine. Her charisma helps me remember there are good people around us, and the world can be a nurturing place even if it doesn't seem so.”

“I really clicked with her and have respect for her.<br /> She asks the right questioms”
