About Julia Brown

In today’s world there are so many people who are hurting and needing answers to the issues they are facing. There are serious domestic and foreign conflicts. People dying from the global wars as well as natural and manmade disasters. Unusual weather patterns that are having unprecedented impact all over the world causing destruction and tremendous loss of lives. We need healing all over our land. There is a clarion call to all helping professionals to get involved and help with the healing process.
I am Julia Brown a licensed independent practitioner and professional counselor. I retired in 2017at the age of 65 after working 27 years in the mental health field. I performed direct clinical services for 14 of those years and worked in a supervisory role the remaining 13 years. I obtained a BA in Psychology from MS College in Clinton, MS in 1988 and an MS in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern MS in Hattiesburg, MS in 1990. I became licensed as a professional counselor in 1994 and obtained my LPC Supervisor’s credential in 2008. I have extensive experience in crisis intervention, trauma focused therapy and veteran’s issues. I have worked with adults and adolescents as well as couples and first responders. I am currently serving the prison population doing contract work with releasees from federal prison into the halfway house setting. I felt a strong urge to get involved and use my skills in some small way to help with the healing of humanity all over our land.

“My therapist has been a true blessing in my life. She brings not only professional insight, but a deep spiritual grounding that speaks to both the mind and the soul. Her guidance has helped me find clarity, peace, and purpose in ways I didn’t think were possible. I’m grateful for her compassion, wisdom, and the safe space she creates for healing.”

“Julia is the best. Very good at listening and understanding my issues. She’s most importantly spiritual which is a huge plus.”

“Julia has been my counselor for a couple of years now. I love our sessions because I always feel better afterwards. Julia is thoughtful, kind and sincere. Her personal experiences allow her to better relate to me. I look at her more as a sister rather than a counselor. Her help and support has enabled me to face past present and future more positively. My outlook is much better and I give Julia much credit for that. She is good at what she does. Thanks Julia. I love you for that.”
