About Carolyn “Ashley” Wanyonyi

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in Nevada and Maine with over 10 years of experience working with individuals, families, children and couples. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including stress and anxiety, relationship difficulties, coping with grief and loss, life changes, parenting challenges and depression. I have also worked as a therapist in foster care and with families who have medically fragile children.

I approach every person and their area of concern as unique and provide help from a non-judgmental lens. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach utilizes ideas from cognitive-behavioral, narrative, person centered and humanistic theories. All of our dialogue and the treatment plan will be tailored to meet your specific and unique needs.

It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

“My therapist is very patient, and never makes me feel like my problems aren’t valued.”

“She’s a great listener!”

“Ashley really helped me at multiple times. In some ways, it felt like talking to a friend. My wife has a masters in psychology and I know a lot of the normal check box questions. Ashley still asked them but she also realized that I needed a much more personal touch and was able to provide that. She would reach out to check up on me but it never felt like a sales pitch, just a genuine ask.”

“I have never had a therapist that I’ve truly enjoyed quite like Ashley! She listens thoughtfully & responds with advice, observations, and other helpful tidbits. I truly cannot recommend her enough.”

“Ashley is a wonderful therapist. She truly listens and creates a supportive space, while also challenging me to think more deeply about my patterns and perspectives. I appreciate that she doesn’t take over the conversation but instead offers thoughtful feedback, insightful questions, and new ways of looking at things. Working with her has been both grounding and transformative.”

“Very nice, but not a pushover which I do like. Says what's needed to say, even if its hard to hear. Listens very well”

“Ashley is great! She listens and offers great input to my situation that is easy to apply to real life situaitons.”

“Carolyn is a good listener, patient, kind, understanding & professional. She's great!”

“Within the first session of talking with Ashley I could already feel how experienced she was; she knew what questions to ask to help guide me since it’s my first time doing therapy, and once we found a good goal she kept us focused so I could get the most out of our session. I feel like I’ve made considerable progress in the few sessions we’ve had together!”

“I have never opened up to a person like this. I greatly appreciate my time with my therapist.”
