About Linda Allen

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor in the
State of Florida. I earned my Masters Degree in Counseling from Nova
Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2000. I have 20
years of professional counseling with a wide range of clinical training.
I have been able to assist individuals, couples and/or families deal
with life stressors with a focus on the presenting diagnostic issues:
depression, anxiety, mood, domestic violence, child welfare, dependency,
delinquency, parent/child conflict and trauma issues to name a few. I’ve
worked as a Foster Care Worker, Child Protective Services Counselor
and Protective Investigator in the State of Florida. I have years of
experience working with the Court System, Educational System and other community providers.

My counseling style is Eclectic Therapy with a primary focus on Client
Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy models. I view myself
as eclectic because my intervention style is based on the assessment
process and what I see from an individualized standpoint is helping the
individual/couple/family achieve their specific needs and achieve success.

I am excited that you and/or your family have made a decision to
identify life issues/stressors and seek help for the concerns that
continue to be unresolved. This is truly tough love when we are able to
hang in there and provide therapeutic support for each other.

I look forward to the journal to success and being BETTER! 🙂

“She’s a gem! Gets it. It’s also fun and so positive in her style.”

“I began therapy shortly after a hospital stay that started for a chronic medical condition. The stay was extended due to a new dx of type 2 diabetes. Managing 2 chronic conditions, opioid pain management, chronic pain and dietary changes on top of a demanding career seems impossible. As a single empty nester living in a new city, I have limited support. All of these things are impacting every area of my life including the career.

I know that I am in a delicate situation and need help. The questionnaire prior to scheduling led to Linda. I never expected that those questions could match me so appropriately. I know that I have a strong personality and an even stronger than faith base, so I needed someone who could help me navigate a wide range of challenges, values and emotions.

I think it was our first or second session I told her I needed to pour out my heart. She sat quietly, almost the whole session. When I finally finished and she started speaking, I became aware that she heard and understood. I asked that the therapist would incorporate my faith and Linda is thoughtfully including my faith with what is practical right now. I appreciate her candor, sense of humor and firm stance. I am grateful fir the process and look forward to next week.”
