About Tiffany Thornton

Excelling as a nontraditional learner, I graduated from the University of Phoenix-AZ majoring in Psychology and received her Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University-MN and is currently pursuing her Ph.D in Advanced Studies in Human Behavior fro Capella University- MN. Tiffany learned how to balance many aspects of life from being a single parent, working full-time while pursing her degrees online to the changing roles of becoming a blended family. These nontraditional roles have helped to create meaning and shared experience with clients as our roles are often changing, unexpectedly at times. While we are the experts of our own lives it is my goal to help clients balance the many challenges of life by providing a supportive and nonjudgmental environment utilizing a multi-systems approach to therapy that is as unique as each client. I have completed Level 1 of the Gottman method of couples therapy, Ienjoys working with couples to enhance and/or improve their relationships by providing a way for couples to become more in tune with themselves and each other. I take pride in working as an ally to the LGBTQ community to help overcome the challenges of being part of a marginalized population in order to affirm who you are, as a person, as well do my part to educate others.

“She’s a wonderful therapist and able to keep her own opinions out of how she chooses to move forward. Kind and friendly manner that makes you feel at ease.”

“I really appreciate her professionalism and concern for understanding things that are very important to me, especially my religious beliefs. She’s respectful while I express myself so I feel very comfortable during our sessions.”

“Tiffany has been extremely helpful. She listens great and provides excellent feedback. Both my husband and i are growing a lot.”

“I've had one therapy session and really enjoyed the first one!!!”

“Tiffany is empathetic and meets me where I am at with great expertise, information, and resources.”

“Tiffany gave us an extremely positive experience. This was our first couples therapy and she welcomed us in the first session, and asked why we came in the first place. What was the triggering item. <br /> She then very quickly identified underlying issues we didn't put together as contributing factors. We did a few one to one sessions with her and then changed the plan when we had a spat and had to see her in a combined session again. She is extremely adaptable and understanding. We are very fortunate to have found her.”

“TIFFANY is great. Love talking to her”

“Talking to Tiffany is probably the best thing that's ever happened to me. Really helped pull me out of my anxiety and fears. Someone I can talk to and not feel judged or silly. I hope to continue talking to her when I get pregnant with my third and afterwards to hopefully prevent PPD being as bad as last time. Wish we found her sooner!”

“We have only had a few sessions with Tiffany and she already seems like the kind of therapist we have been looking for. She is genuinely interested in supporting us and improving our relationship. She is practical- and goal-oriented, friendly, and quick to grasp the situation/problems. We look forward to healing and growing in/our relationship through her help.”

“I've only had a couple of sessions with Tiffany, but so far I really like her attitude and advice offered.”

“Wonderful!”

“Tiffany always seems to go out of her way to check on her clients. She deserves a raise”

“Tiffany has been very accommodating and has been a huge asset so far In our recovery.”

“Tiffany is a very personable therapist who helped me feel at ease and able to share anything. Her knowledge went beyond “book knowledge” and felt realistic and useful in real life.”

“Tiffany is a great listener, and very skilled at her profession. I felt that her insight helped myself and my partner quickly. I'd recommend her to anyone in need of help with the issues we addressed.”
