About Terry Jensen

ABOUT ME
Hello
My name is Terry Jensen. I hold a Masters Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University, am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in NJ and practicing for over 30 years. While finishing my degree, I also attended the Institute for Gestalt Therapy and received my certificate. My professional experience includes Foster Care, Healthcare, and children with disabilities. I have been working for BetterHelp for 2 years. I am working with clients whose ages range from 18 to 70+. I work with singles as well as couples with different lifestyles.
My process is to address the past, determine how it affects the present and work towards a positive outcome for the future. My approach is behavioral combined with psychodynamic therapy. We can focus on anxiety, depression, and adjustment to life changes.
As my client, I will treat you as an individual and provide interventions geared toward helping you achieve your goals. I am respectful and compassionate while addressing your needs and goals. Gestalt Therapy allows us to be in the present while addressing the past and modifying the behaviors for an improved future. My goal is to make you feel very comfortable and safe since divulging experiences can be difficult. Everyone willing to be courageous and work towards change needs to be treated with the utmost respect. Change is not easy, but worth the challenge. I would like the chance to work with you towards achieving these challenges.
I look forward to working with you providing support and empowerment as we work towards a positive outcome.

“Terry Jensen so far has been real and down to earth I don't feel lost or pressured and she has continued to make it a good process for our start”

“Terry is so supportive and has helped me so much in my journey after TBI and navigating relationships.”

“Terry is amazing. She’s supportive, realistic and full of wisdom.”

“Terry is very understanding and makes us feel comfortable. But more importantly, she has a very authentic aura which immediately lightens the air. She has helped us grow and provided useful tools/exercises. She is both relatable and professional.”

“Terry is a very thorough and thought provoking therapist. She makes sure you think about each individual situation and the repercussions it msy have, as well as, providing strong positive feedback in order to encourage you to do the right action in each individual situation. Terry makes sure that you hear what you need to hear, not what you want to hear, which is the best feedback anyone can have! Terry is an amazing therapist and I wouldnhighly recommend her to anyone!”

“Terry has always done a great job in making me feel comfortable with opening up to her while being fully honest without any feelings of judgement. She has helped me with coping strategies with my anxiety and has also helped with my parenting concerns helping me improve in various aspects.”

“Terry is an incredible therapist and person, I value her words and opinion greatly, I always look forward to my time with her.”

“It has only been a month of therapy with Terry, and I need to write a review to say how happy I am to have her in my corner. I never had a therapist who responded so quickly, and I love how open she is about her life and experiences. She builds my confidence so much, and I truly feel so much better than I did at the end of last month. I am really happy I found this option; online therapy is so much more convenient for me. I love in person, but this fits my lifestyle best.”

“Terry is amazing!”

“Terry is no BS. She's informative, responsive and compassionate. She provides a safe space that allows for reflection and education. She sees what you don't or possibly, what you don't want to. She delivers these realities in a sensitive manner and is supportive. I was not sure about connecting initially as this is my first experience with virtual therapy and I'm glad I did. Terry is exactly who I needed to connect with to help me navigate this time of my life.”

“Terry is great! I have become so relieved that i’ve been able to find someone who’s able to help me through my struggles. I feel confident in all of the advice and insight that Terry has given me and I look forward to her guidance going forward.”

“Terry was great. Very easy to talk to and understanding. Would definitely recommend her.”

“Terry is a good listener and her years of expertise show through the conversations”

“Terry has a practicality to her, as well as an air of experience that I think can be helpful in providing insight.”

“I love Terry so so much! She is the first therapist I’ve had who actually listens to me and cares about me. I truly feel like I can tell her anything and that we can work through it all together! I look forward to all of my sessions with her!”
