About Shawna Powell

I believe that the things we have been through do not have to be in vain. I became a therapist because I wanted to use my own experiences to help others strive, not only to survive but to thrive after horrendous events. During an internship opportunity in my Master’s degree program, I found that I as a survivor, as well as a professional, became incredibly empowered and motivated to embark upon social change. I have seen immense healing in so many areas of my career thus far and it just keeps growing. That was only the beginning of that realization of the potential we all have for healing within. Since this start, my vision has expanded and the experience I’ve gained in treating people with an eclectic approach. I always meet my clients where they are and include them in their treatment as experts on themselves. I’m looking forward to working with you on improving your quality of life!

“Shawna is great. I highly recommend her”

“I’ve been working with Shawna for almost 5 months now, and she has been a great help! She helped me through an issue I’ve been stuck on for literal years.

One of my biggest hang ups is being judged, and I have never once felt that way with her. Very approachable and relateable.

You can tell that she works very hard to build a positive therapeutic relationship with everyone she works with, and genuinely cares.
She’s helped me so much already. I bet she can do the same for you too!”

“Shawna is a great listener and has insightful ways to look at things that were very helpful. She’s kind and encouraging and compassionate.”

“Love her. She is amazing and has helped me so much!!! I will forever keep going and always recommend her!!”

“I’ve been working with Shawna for only a few sessions now, but I’ve really enjoyed my time with her so far! I think she understands my problems and has the tools to really help me - it’s hard to give a blanket rating to a therapist because of how subjective and objectively personal each therapy relationship is, but I’m confident in her ability to help me, and I’d say there’s a real good chance she can make a difference in your life, too.”
