Risa Mendelson

My name is Risa Mendelson. I have an MA in Rehabilitation Counseling and Community Inclusion. This degree enabled me to be able to serve diverse populations of clients to evaluate individual needs and plan and implement interventions. I have a BS in psychology (Human Development) and I am a licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. My experience as a therapist has enhanced my skills to be a passionate and dedicated counselor and it allowed me to look at each individual holistically (mentally, physically, and emotionally). I have experience working with diverse populations of clients who have physical challenges.
My approach is a collaboration of approaches (cognitive therapy, DBT, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness therapy). I have experience working with anxiety, decreased self-esteem, relationship issues, time management, and traumatic brain injury.
