About Phyllis Jeannestal

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in South Florida. I have 6 years of therapy experience rooted in trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, and delinquency. I’m a proponent of inclusion and honoring self-determination of an individual. I have worked with adolescents and family units, empowering them to have more agency over their life choices and mental health. I have had the honor of working with the survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting in Parkland at the wellness center developed as a response to heal a community affected by gun violence. I assisted in developing treatment plans that centered on holistic health through wellness activities like exercise, art therapy, and support groups. I’m currently working in hospice supporting families through their journey of grief and loss.

My modalities that I incorporate are trauma-informed care approach which focuses on: safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, and empowerment. I also utilize other evidence based approaches like cognitive behavior therapy, and solution- focused therapy.

My number one objective is to hold a safe place that fosters healing, learning, self- awareness and overall mental peace by highlighting your own strengths to build your toolbox to overcome challenges. Thank you for your time as you invest in a better version of yourself!
