About Pamela “Pam” Theisen

I am an independent consultant and counselor with more than 35 years of experience in health care, counseling and coaching. I obtained my Master’s in Social Work, specializing in Interpersonal Practice, from the University of Michigan in 1983. Throughout my career I’ve worked with thousands of individuals dealing with wide ranging concerns including health and stress related problems, crisis management, anxiety, depression, grief, anger issues, relationship and family problems, work related and career challenges. I consider my work with individuals to be a great privilege and I take pride in the ability to help people to feel very comfortable, and to feel supported no matter what concerns they may be struggling with at the time. I am very solution oriented and practical in my approach, recognizing that for many people, short-term counseling is all that is necessary. Sometimes we just need someone on the outside of our situation to help us look at things from different angles so that we can identify all possible solutions and/or opportunities. Despite my many years of experience, I know that people are unique individuals and I take nothing in the work I do for granted. Doing my very best for each individual I work with is critical to me.
Thank you for your consideration and please contact me if you believe I can be of assistance.

“Pam is the best therapist I’ve ever had. She is a treasure and anyone would have a better life if they were lucky enough to have her as their therapist.”

“Pam is compassionate patient and listens perfect. She interrupts only to make sure she understands which is 0.1% of the time. She asks me insightful questions which directs my thinking and challenges me on contradictions between my thoughts and actions. I have already recommended her to several people and I’ve seen dozens of therapists. Pam is the best.”

“A great therapist is hard to find and the world needs more of them like Pam! Kind, attentive, professional and, above all, caring. Highly recommend!”

“Pam is excellent at finding true points in issues despite there being chaos in the mind of the patient presenting the issue. She is personable and makes me feel very at ease right off the bat. She came up with great solutions to my concerns to trial and listens to how the process worked for me that week.”

“Pam has been the absolute best therapist I could have ever asked for. Her insight, advice, and perspective have helped me identify what is causing me distress in my life and ways to change it. Every session has been productive and I walk away with strategies to improve my life and relationships. She looks at problems in a very rational way and provides concrete steps to work through those problems. Pam is also incredibly professional and I never felt judged or nervous to bring up any topic. Working with Pam was one of the best decisions I’ve made.”
