About Michelle Slater

“We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.” (Joseph Campbell).

I believe the potential for change and growth lies within us all! My therapeutic approach is grounded in respect, active listening, and collaborative healing, designed to help you build resilience, improve self-awareness, and move toward your personal goals. I work to understand each client’s unique journey through a holistic lens that addresses mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual concerns. Therapeutic interventions frequently include existential, solution-focused, and cognitive-behavioral strategies, with a particular focus on communication, emotional well-being, and personal empowerment.

My practice offers compassionate support for those experiencing isolation, exploring life purpose, managing guilt and shame, and working through significant transitions like divorce, separation, and grief. I work with individuals who are struggling with a variety of concerns, such as depression, stress, coping skills, behavioral change, anxiety, relationship issues, spirituality, and trauma. Whatever their concerns, I partner with my clients in removing the barriers that prevent them from achieving goals, fulfilling life purposes, and experiencing peace.

As a licensed therapist in Florida with over two decades of clinical and teaching experience, I specialize in supporting individuals navigating complex life transitions, relationship challenges, and personal growth. I earned Masters, Specialists, and Doctoral degrees in Counselor Education from the University of Florida. I am certified in telemental health counseling (BC-TMH) and comfortable and experienced working with couples, families, groups, & individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and diversity.

It is my goal to create a safe, supportive environment where individuals can explore their challenges, develop healthy coping strategies, and cultivate meaningful personal insights. Whether you’re struggling with mood challenges, attachment issues, or seeking greater self-understanding and acceptance, I’m committed to walking alongside you with empathy and professional guidance.
