About Kevin Stroud

Hello! I am a therapist and clinical social worker in North Carolina with 5 years of experience in the field. I have previously worked with individuals in an inpatient long-term setting and with children and families to maintain family preservation. I have worked with clients experiencing issues such as depression, anxiety, parenting problems, communication problems, and post-traumatic stress.

I place a high emphasis on the importance of maintaining unconditional positive regard towards clients, as maintaining a strong working relationship can be critical towards addressing issues and making therapeutic gains. All individuals deserve to be heard and feel validation. From there, we can explore these difficult issues together and address negative feelings that cause hardship. I believe that solutions to our problems lie within all individuals, as each individual in the expert in their own life. My background lies in motivational interviewing, and cognitive and solution-focused therapies.

Asking for help takes a lot of strength and vulnerability. If you decide to move forward, I will be happy to assist you in reaching your goals!

“Kevin is a great listener. He is very organized, pays attention, and is very skillful at helping me see different facets of issues. He has helped me navigate extremely difficult circumstances with compassion and strength. While he is very careful about not telling me how to act, he is very skillful at helping me see opportunities and avenues for reflection and action. I highly recommend him as a therapist.”

“Kevin is very easy to talk to. Excellent in getting teens to elaborate. Compliments the client for their insight, focuses in on the main problem noticed during each therapy appointment. Sends you great worksheets and information/guidance on next steps. Listens intently and does not just agree with everything my daughter states (this was an issue in the past), easily engaged, has a sense of humor”
