About Karen Eldridge

Thank you for visiting my profile. I am so encouraged that you have taken the most important step toward addressing issues of concern, the first step. My name is Karen Eldridge. I joined the counseling field a little late in life though many would tell you that makes me experienced at this thing we call life with its’ many twists and turns, good times and bad. I believe that my life experience, and work in other professions has prepared me to walk with clients to address a wide variety of concerns. I use a wide paint brush so to speak of my counseling style that is centered solely on genuineness, responsibility and accountability. I want my clients to be as comfortable talking to me as they would to their closest, and most trusted friend rather than a professional so very far away. I believe that together we can push aside the fear and embarrassment that too many people associate with therapy to develop a collaborative partnership to discover hidden desires and talents that will allow you to live your life with purpose and passion.

I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Virginia’s College at Wise and a Master’s in Counseling from Lindsey Wilson College. I have a PhD in Psychology from Capella University. I earned my National Certified Counselor (NCC) designation in 2013, and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) designation in April 2019. I have experience counseling adults and couples. In my free time I enjoy reading and spending time with my family.

“I connected easily with Karen - she listened and showed empathy. She's also very resourceful and I look forward to healing fully with her compassionate care and guidance.”

“Since from beginning, she gave us (to me and to my partner in life) assurance that we could surpass our problems, if we put effort and if we willing to do it. She told us she will guide us, and that what she have been do it. Karen knows how to read a person and with her expertise we can trust her without any doubt.”

“Karen was clearly sent to me by God. She "gets it" even when I don't have a clue what's going on. She is the definition of "empathy" and is open to feedback about how best to relate to me or help me-- no matter how many different times those ways may need to be adjusted. She listens, remembers details and offers suggestions to consider when dealing with issues. She is action oriented but also will sit quietly with you on a hard day or topic. Above all, she is a Christian which offers a much desired and needed element to sessions. She is genuine, trustworthy and clearly cares without judging.”

“I would highly recommend her to anyone as a good insight into your problems.”

“Karen is always a listening ear, with helpful advice. She has helped me to understand myself and my relationships on another level.”

“Very down to earth and experienced. Listens well, is open and trustworthy”

“Karen is great and my husband and I both benefit from her”

“Karen helps me to gain a new perspective in my life in an informative and engaging way. She takes the time to listen and then give great insight on why I may be feeling a certain way. She gives great examples and explanations to help me really understand what’s really going on. She is always quick to respond or get back to my messages and always maintains a positive and professional attitude. I recommend Karen for her expertise, and always look forward to our sessions.”

“I haven't been with her long, but so far she's been wonderful.”

“She was a great therapist. We were concerned we might not find some with a biblical background, but Karen was great. The book she suggested has helped us greatly. She listens but also has input and she was exactly what we were looking for.”

“Karen has been wonderful and a Big Help.”
