About James “Jim” Dailey

Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. If you have questions about anything you see here please feel free to contact me.

My name is Jim Dailey.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Michigan. I have worked in the field of social work since 2009. My work has included conditions/topics such as: depression, anxiety, traumatic brain injury, aging, chronic illness, self esteem, coping with life changes, and grief & loss. I have worked with a diverse group of clients over the years. In my opinion, the best part about social work is the opportunity to build a therapeutic alliance with people of different backgrounds. I am excited about the possibility of working with you.

I would describe my therapy style as supportive; judgment free. My peers have described me as having a calming presence. My clients have been comfortable opening up to me about life experiences. I offer a safe space to vent feelings of stress, anxiety, anger. My job is to reflect these feelings as you work through them.

Silence is also welcomed during a session. Sometimes we need more time to collect our thoughts. We are living in times of uncertainty and we may feel completely different from one day to the next. I will meet you where you’re at.

In terms of therapy types, I utilize: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solutions-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Relaxation Therapy. My clients have reported feeling more at ease after doing relaxation exercises such as guided breathing/progressive muscle relaxation.

I want you to know that I take confidentiality very seriously. I adhere to the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with questions about privacy or anything else related to web-based therapy.

Thanks again

“Jim is awesome”

“James is a very good therapist that has a very good knowledge base with good advice”

“Jim is amazing! I find that we clicked really well. He is very reassuring, and has been helping me work through my problems, at my pace. Thank you Jim!”

“He is a man who understands very key parts about mental health, and he will give your mind ease if you take time to understand.”

“This guy is a real friend to the mind, he makes good points about problems and how people view them differently! I endorse this dude.”

“Jim is a great therapist. He has helped me see how to be positive in life and with everything going on in my day to day life. I would Highly recommend him.”

“James has been super helpful very caring and has a way of making you see things that you sometimes don’t see yourself. Thank you James”

“Jim was really helpful and a good listener. He had good suggestions for tools to navigate thru problems. He was never judgmental and was able to talk to him about many different topics. He checks in regularly to see how things are going and is good at responding in a timely manner outside of regularly scheduled sessions.”

“Prior to seeing Jim, it was very uncomfortable for me to open up about my feelings, reactions, and experiences because I feared judgement of others. James really did provide a safe space to work through very difficult topics that I have avoided talking about in the past. He also asked many probing, but gentle questions to challenge negative thinking. Therapy was never easy for me to attend, but by the end of sessions I usually felt uplifted in some way.”

“So wonderful! He kept my goals, values, and achievements in mind each step of the way. He is patient, calm, and very easy to open up to. Also, the times I needed guidance when our scheduled appointment was too far away, he was prompt and thorough with his responses. I can’t thank him enough for the support he’s given me and how far I’ve come! I would absolutely recommend him to someone in need of counseling.”

“James is forthright and concise yet warm with his responses. He shows earnest compassion and offers different practices and strategies for me to choose from that work best for me. He takes time getting to understand where you're at and where you aspire to be, offering sources to help you visualize your tension to work toward personal goals. Highly recommend!”
