About Veronica

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with nearly 30 years of combined experience in education and mental health. I hold a Ph.D. in Counseling Education and Supervision from Walden University, as well as graduate degrees in Counseling and Educational Administration from Prairie View A&M University. I am also a Certified Trauma and Resilience Practitioner.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I incorporate Play and Art Therapy techniques when working with children. I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and families navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, and domestic violence.

My goal is to offer compassionate, evidence-based care that fosters resilience, emotional healing, and personal growth.

What clients say

 • “She is a great addition. She allows a safe place for both my husband and I to be vocal.”
 • “I had my reservations and doubts about finding a good fit through BetterHelp.
Dr. Martin-Perkin’s has been the best fit. She listened until I finished telling her why I was seeking support. She patiently listened during our first initial session even after I talked nonstop and took longer than our scheduled time.
She validated my concerns and has thus far given me insight I could NOT have accomplished on my own. She provided homework and held me accountable for doing my part in this long journey towards healing.”
 • “Best therapist I’ve had so far”
