About Debra Aquino

I am an LCSW therapist licensed in Kentucky with over 5 years of experience working as a psycho counselor. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD, and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don’t believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, mindfulness, motivational-interview, and rational-emotive therapy. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

“Debra is great at listening and is willing to help any way possible. I am grateful for her and look forward to our sessions”

“Debra has been great, very responsive and helpful. She takes the time to listen and then give feedback. I’ve been happy with her so far.”

“Have found it easy to establish good rapport with her”

“Debra has been extremely helpful and guiding my husband and I through a hiccup in our relationship. My husband in particular has responded well to her as he feared therapy was going to make him feel shameful. Debra has made him feel supported and eager to return to sessions despite the matter of the sessions difficulty. She has also been patient and thoughtful of our erratic behavior in scheduling and committing to repair work. Her patience has been greatly appreciated.”

“I've really enjoyed the chats with Debra, she's a very professional therapist and often shared anecdotes of similar subject line when we talked, and it was very helpful to get deep into the issues needing to be dealt with. I felt like we built up a kind report wit her.”

“Debra shows compassion and empathy at all times. She listens and offers suggestions and exercises to further my therapy journey. She is a calming voice when I need it and she provides constructive criticism when needed.”

“Debra is awesome and understands and is very kind.”

“She has been amazing with me. She keeps me focused and helps me work through my problems as they come up and my past issues as well. She acknowledges my feelings and encourages me through them. I've really come to look forward to my therapy sessions as it's the only time I feel heard. She is wonderful and I am happy I have found a good therapist for myself.”

“Debra has a great understanding persona and a lot of great tools at her disposal to help her understand us and us to understand each other. The conversation is very inspiring and even fun, while going into the deep issues which need to be addressed without any dancing around them. You can trust Debra.”

“Debra has helped me better understand myself and how my brain works. Struggling with ADD and focusing, she has equipped me with ways to help me in my every day. Talking with Debra, she also began asking me questions that helped me think more about myself in ways I never did before. Validating and caring for myself.”

“Debra has helped me so much these past few weeks! She listens very well. She’ll talk then pause to let you have time to chime in and she won’t cut you off in the middle of your sentence. I had a therapist on here that told me I couldn’t work things out with my husband and told me to divorce him or get used to it. I didn’t accept that as an answer and Debra helped us work through it! She was very helpful with grief counseling as well. I will definitely be keeping her as my therapist!”

“Debra is extremely caring. Talking with her is like talking with a trusted friend. She has been the best therapist I've ever had”

“Debra is caring, empathetic and kind. She is forceful when needed but always compassionate.”

“Debra is great! She is like talking to a long time friend.”

“Debra is bloody brilliant & helped us so much. She understands, listens, has empathy & I will recommend her to anyone with a pulse.”
