About Danielle Horn

My Approach: A Direct Path to Trauma Recovery
My name is Danni, and I’m a Licensed Therapist in Michigan. My approach is direct, heavy, and unapologetically thorough. I won’t just ask, “How are you feeling today?” because frankly, if that was enough, you wouldn’t be here. We are going to dig. My goal is to get to the root cause of your distress and dismantle it, brick by heavy brick.

This is a form of progressive therapy, and it is driven by one core belief: that the most profound and lasting change comes from psychodynamic trauma processing and inner child work. We will not be skimming the surface. We will begin there, yes—at the surface of your current pain—but we will be following it down into the core of your past. We will find where your coping mechanisms and triggers were first formed, because our deepest parts are often stuck in the moment of their original trauma. The goal of this process is to go back to that stuck place, find safety and stability, and then walk you through the developmental stages you missed so that the “inner child” can finally grow up and become one with your current self. This is not easy. It’s intense, it can be scary, and it will require you to face things you’ve likely spent a lifetime running from. We’ll be going into the depths, so you can stop just surviving and start truly living.

Because of this, my approach is not for everyone. As I see it, my job is to be an honest guide, and my first act of honesty is telling you WHO MIGHT NOT find this to be a good fit.

If you are looking for a quick fix, this is NOT FOR YOU. This is a commitment to a deep, transformative process.

If you are NOT willing to talk about your childhood, this is going to be incredibly challenging for you. We will always find our way back to the inner child to understand the origins of your core wounds.

If you believe your trauma or pain is “not that bad,” my approach is probably NOT FOR YOU. I don’t believe in minimizing your pain. I believe in facing it, no matter how scary it may seem.

My focus is on individuals because you cannot have a healthy relationship with anyone else until you have one with yourself. My commitment is to get to the heart of the matter, so that you can heal and find the freedom you’ve been searching for. If you’re ready to face it all, I am here.

“Ms. Danielle is my first experience with a therapist. I speak…she listens, she speaks…but only after digesting what i’ve pour out. She helps me arrive at my own conclusions through her questions. She friendly, direct, and even references trending things just to help navigate and lighten the conversation a bit so i can breathe. I really do love and value her as a therapist. If you’re stubborn but also need compassion…She’s your woman!”

“Danielle has changed my life for the better. I was a big skeptic of therapy before starting and it has been the best decision I have ever made. I would not trade the time I have with Danielle for the world because it is building me into a better version of myself, the biggest part is she’s allowing me to grow at my own pace and allowing me to do the work and experience the success of it.”

“Dani listens and has the proper understanding of what one needs in life. That helps her be a better therapist on a human level.”

“Danielle is very compassionate and thoughtful. Providing some external perspective which is invaluable.”

“Danielle is very soft spoken but direct. She lets you vent and also lets you know that “you don’t always have to know!””

“Danielle is a great therapist. As she helps me dive deeper into my own thoughts and emotions to better myself in the present. We work together in our sessions and gives me homework for my own time.”

“My therapist Danielle is the most genuine, kind, caring, knowledgeable, sincere, supportive, and trustworthy person. She listens to what you have to say about an issue you have and explain to me what I needed to do and how to get passed it. Danielle is a fantastic therapist and I am looking forward to seeing on my next session.”
