About Christy Crane

I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Missouri, and I have studied both family and marriage counseling and the regular professional counseling. I have 8 years of experience working as a counselor in various settings. I have worked with children, adolescents, families, couples, individuals, and groups. I have worked in private counseling and outpatient community mental health settings as a counselor. I have also worked inpatient as a psychiatric technician. I have worked a range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting issues, change of life concerns, OCD, ADHD, anger management, grief, and personality disorders.

My counseling style is warm and genuine. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I do not believe in control or coercion. I will voice my belief in what may help you feel better, but you are in the driver’s seat. I have long observed that real improvement and changes come when the individual makes decisions and does the work involved. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, narrative, EMDR, DBT, and trauma-informed counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

“Christy has helped me so much. I have a really hard time literally make the words come out of my mouth when talking about my trauma. She has been so comforting and just supported me. Never putting words in my mouth but just guiding me so I can say what I need to say.”

“Christy is a well rounded therapist and seemed to me like what you'd hope a therapist would be. I think she understands the responsibility of her job while approaching it in a way that seems at rest. I would recommend her as a therapist.”

“It's a weird thing to be with a therapist for a long period of time, but I've been through many life transitions and deeply stressful periods in the past three years. It has become a joke between me and my partner when something intense is happening for them to ask me: "Have you talked to Christy lately?" because they know she will give me perspective and the proper tools to handle life.

You can tell she really is committed to what she does and really good at it too. It's been great to have her be my therapist.”

“She’s the best.”

“Christy is a wonderful therapist who cares about your individual needs and works with you to develop goals for improvement. She is professional and encourages you to make realistic goals for yourself that you can have the confidence to complete. She is also not judgmental or disappointed if you fall short, but instead will focus on the positive side and remind you what you have accomplished and done well. Christy listens to you and does a great job making you feel comfortable and safe to talk. I highly recommend Christy as a therapist, especially if you are nervous about trying therapy for the first time!”

“She’s awesome”
