About Dr. Christine Wilcox

Christine L. Wilcox, M.S.W., L.C.S.W., C-ND

My expertise and scope of private practice therapy is Individual Women’s Mental Health Issues. I am dedicated to women ages 18 and older. I do not provide Couples Therapy. In addition: clinical consulting, nursing, working in elementary, secondary, and college settings, long-term care, hospice, inpatient, intensive outpatient, hospital, community, and psychiatric programs. I hold a Masters Degree from The Ohio State University, in Columbus, Ohio; Bachelor of Science Degree from Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio; Nursing degree from Otero Junior College in LaJunta, Colorado; and a Doctor of Naturopathy Certification from Trinity School of Natural Health in Warsaw, Indiana.

I embrace twenty-seven years in private practice with licensure in Colorado, Indiana, and Ohio. My goal is education, modeling the use of positive therapeutic strategies, providing change agents from various methodologies, and introducing boundaries that will provide the desired outcome in life transitions and relationships.

The practice modalities I circumfuse are: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (BSF). These modalities have core foundations that support: anxiety, depression, grief, loss, trauma, nutrition, exercise, mindfulness, meditation, alternative and integrative therapeutic approaches to wellness.

Know that I encourage and support women for employing self-care steps of: taking management of mind, body, health and wellness. It may be difficult, or a prior counseling experience may have been challenging. It’s okay. Breathe. Help and support are on the way!

“I have been experiencing some self doubt in a few difficult situations and Dr. Wilcox has been an incredible support—warm, relatable, and genuinely easy to connect with and calming when I feel anxious. The strategies she had taught me for coping with different emotions have been very effective and easy to implement.
I have been involved in therapy on and off for the last 25 yrs and Dr Wilcox's expertise really stands out to me. I appreciate how flexible she is and her quick responses, which makes communication simple and stress-free.
Having support from Dr. Wilcox—whether through messaging, calls, or sessions—has been incredibly valuable as I navigate a stressful season of life.”

“Dr. Wilcox has the education, skills and insight that fit my needs.
I resisted getting therapy for a while thinking I wouldn't find a good fit at first.
I requested a therapist age 45 or older and here she is.
I'm very satisfied.”

“Dr. Wilcox is an amazing human after our first call she opened up the session with, “I’ve been thinking about you.” She’s very compassionate, understanding and resourceful. She has been helping handle narcissistic behavior and being a new step mom to three children under the age of 10. She has incorporated somatic therapy to get my body to feel safe. I’ve done a lot of talking therapy and self development so finally getting the body to catch up to the mind. I have a lot of past experiences with trauma - not trusting ppl and she has made sure that I can trust her to hear me and be there. Very grateful to have found her. My fiancé and children also super appreciate her and the work that she is incorporated into all of our lives through me.”
