Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
About Christian
I’m a strengths-based therapist with a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech and extensive experience helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, transitions, and opportunities for growth. I work with adolescents and adults across the lifespan, supporting clients with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, stress, self-esteem, relationships, identity, and school, college, and career transitions. My goal is to create a welcoming, inclusive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable exploring your experiences, understanding yourself more deeply, and moving toward meaningful change.
As a generalist therapist, I enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds and with a variety of life experiences. My areas of specialized experience include working with LGBTQ+ individuals, autistic and neurodivergent clients, adolescents and young adults, and those exploring sexuality, identity, and self-discovery. I bring an affirming, culturally responsive perspective to my work and welcome incorporating spirituality into therapy when it is meaningful to you.
Other areas of focus include communication and relationship skills, social anxiety, isolation and loneliness, workplace challenges, financial stress, men’s issues, and multicultural experiences. Whether you’re navigating a difficult transition, strengthening your relationships, building confidence and self-acceptance, or searching for greater direction and purpose, I believe therapy should meet you where you are and reflect your individual needs and goals.
My approach is client-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused, grounded in authenticity, collaboration, and respect. Rather than focusing solely on problems, I help you recognize and build on your existing strengths while developing practical strategies for navigating challenges. When appropriate and of interest to you, I can also incorporate expressive arts and play therapy techniques into our work. I’m a member of the Association for Play Therapy and a School-Based Registered Play Therapist (SB-RPT).
Above all, I believe therapy is a collaborative process. Together, we’ll work toward greater self-understanding, confidence, connection, and purpose at a pace that feels right for you.
