About Cecelia Myers

I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and my Master’s in Counseling at UNC Charlotte in NC. I have 20+ years of experience with children, adolescents, and adults. I am Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in NC and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of SC and GA. I am also a previous Registered Play Therapist and believe that is helpful to all ages due to my deep understanding of development and early life experiences. I have also been trained in and provided Animal Assisted and Equine Assisted Therapy. I am a firm believer that animals and nature are healers. My approach involves meeting clients where they are and developing a plan based on individual needs with a theoretical base of Adlerian concepts and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy principles. My goal for you is an overall sense of well being and care for yourself. Clients are able to overcome challenges in a non-threatening atmosphere. I work with clients to explore how the past affects the present and what they hope for the future. Then we can explore moving forward while living in line with our values. I work with adults on issues such as anxiety, trauma, life changes, depression, among others. I believe I provide a refreshing, caring approach and look forward to our journey together.
