About Barry Parker

Hello, My name is Barry Parker. I am a Christian, husband, father, Therapist, and animal lover. I am licensed in Indiana with 27 years of professional work experience. I have seen it all, during my years, not much surprises me. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, & coping with grief and loss. I have worked with children as young as 5, teenagers (who often are not that accepting to therapy) and to adults as old as 107. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. My role to refine, define and develop existing and new tools in your tool bag to take on life. You are taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life, which takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

I believe one of the key elements of therapeutic bond. Due to personal trauma, I am not a good fit for the LGBT+ community.

I do not take cases with active court involvement, Child abuse with DFC involvement.

I am a animal lover, have 3 dogs and 4 cats, not to mention chickens and rabbits. I am easy going and do not use a lot of Therapy Speak, I tend to talk with my clients as I would with anybody else. Using my skills to connect the dots of what’s going on in your life, to make sense of it, the best I can.

Hope to see you soon,
I’ll leave the light on.
Barry

“Barry was extremely personable and receptive of my communication. He took great notes and provided synopses as well. I would recommend Barry for anyone who sees a match with his areas of expertise.”

“Absolutely the best. I feel heard and am offered ways to move forward. Takes the lead from you as far as how you want your therapy to move forward. I foresee a long therapy relationship! Very happy. I have complex issues on a wide spectrum which has not detered him.”

“I appreciate how understanding Barry is. He allows me to speak my entire thoughts and feelings without interrupting. I feel like he takes in what I’m saying and is very supportive.”

“Barry and I connected from our very first conversation. Before working with him, I had gone through a few therapists on BetterHelp, but many of those sessions felt more focused on the therapist than on me and the issues I was trying to address.

What I appreciate most about Barry is that he doesn’t automatically take sides. Even when I feel like I may be at fault, he helps me see the situation from a balanced perspective and recognize where my feelings or actions may be justified as well. He’s an excellent listener, and I never feel like just another client. I genuinely feel that my needs, concerns, and personal growth are his priority during our sessions.”

“Barry is an exceptionally professional and compassionate therapist.
