About Aaron Duckworth

Hi my name is Aaron Duckworth .I graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2010. I am a Licensed Clinic Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor/Mental Health (LADC/MH). I am licensed in the state of Oklahoma. My experience consist of assisting individuals with addiction and co-occurring disorders, relapse prevention, veteran issues, trauma, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, impulse control issues, self esteem issues, and self harm. I really have a passion for working with clients struggling with anxiety, OCD, and intrusive thoughts.

My style of therapy is that of building an alliance with a client to assist the client in managing their current struggles. I believe in self determination which allows the client to decide what is important for them to change without judgement. My approaches to therapy include solution focused therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness. I strive to maintain a very small case load which allows me an opportunity to assist each client on their journey to change.

“Working with Aaron has been tremendously helpful for me both personally and professionally. He has introduced me to valuable frameworks such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), which have given me meaningful insight into myself, my reactions, and how I navigate relationships and stress. These frameworks also help me identify why people react and communicate with me the way they do. Most importantly, Aaron creates a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where I feel comfortable being open and honest. His combination of empathy, thoughtfulness, and practical guidance has had a genuinely positive impact on my life.”

“Aaron is an extremely knowledgeable and personable therapist that encourages you to take yourself just as seriously as he takes you. I greatly appreciate that Aaron respects me enough to never sugar coat my shortcomings, while also never coming across as callous or uncaring. I’d especially recommend Aaron if you are a young man that struggles with the concept of therapy or engaging with the process.”

“Aaron is an excellent therapist. He listens intently and creates a space where it feels safe and easy to be open and vulnerable. He has a natural sense for when to gently challenge me and when to let things unfold in the moment simply. What I appreciate most is how he takes our conversations and helps me frame them in clear, thoughtful ways that I can actually use. The frameworks he provides are always grounded in solid psychological theory, but also practical and easy to apply to real life. Working with Aaron has been both insightful and grounding, and I’ve found real value in the balance he strikes between empathy and structure.”

“Aaron is a great listener and has a nice framework approach to navigating a complex issue.”

“Aaron has been my lifeline or safety net or whatever you want to call it. With no exaggeration i have found him here to support me and make me reconsider suicide over 5 times in 3 months just by being here and being attentive and honest and making me feel that he genuinely cares.”

“Aaron takes the time to ensure that he understands what what your concerns and needs are prior to making any recommendations or assumptions. I would highly recommend his services.”

“Kind and attentive. No pretense. Relatable and understanding.”

“Aaron is the first therapist I've ever enjoyed working with. He's sympathetic, friendly, and helps me get to the point of what I'm trying to work on. I wish I could send my friends to him. I think that he has really helped me.”
