About Yelitza Gallimore

I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor in North Carolina with 10 years of experience in counseling adolescents and adults. I have worked with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship stress, PTSD, parenting challenges, ADHD/AuDHD, eating issues, codependency, recovery from toxic relationships, family of origin issues/childhood trauma, and LGBT-related issues (queer friendly). I have also worked with people who have experienced psychological abuse, dissociation, and issues related to being highly sensitive and neurodiverse.

My communication style is gentle, encouraging, and nonjudgmental. I believe in each person’s right to decide what feels right for them, as well as each person’s responsibility to craft durable solutions for a life they can feel safe in and proud of. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, trauma-focused, and solution-focused methods. I also draw from somatic approaches and I offer energy tapping (EFT) to address overwhelming feelings and to shift unhelpful beliefs. This popular process is highly effective at making rapid and noticeable improvements in specified areas. I will tailor our work together to honor your unique ways of processing information while supporting you in building new skills that lead to a more fulfilling and empowered life.

It takes courage to reach out for support, so I commend you for that. I will meet you wherever you are on your journey, and allow you to go at a pace that feels good for you. Along the way I will ask you to be open to new perspectives, to challenge old beliefs, and to install the practices required for an upgraded life. If you are eager, inspired, and ready to take those steps, I am here to support you on that journey.

“Wonderful therapist”

“Yelitza helped me more in a few sessions, than in many years worth of therapy sessions with others. She helped identify core causes of my distress and recommended the most effective support and treatment methods, which are proving to be game-changing for me. She is attentive, compassionate, and experienced - all crucial elements of a successful treatment partner.”

“So far so great!”
