About Yasmin Elkhair

Welcome!
I am a licensed independent clinical therapist who provides psychotherapeutic services to clients residing in the Washington, DC area. I have over 25 years of professional experience. Clients with whom I have worked have presented with : various traumas; depression; anxiety; PTSD; grief; self concept concerns; mood disorders; relationship and communication issues. I utilize psychotherapeutic modalities in an integrative manner. I believe that this allows flexibility in the use of therapeutic tools. These treatment modalities include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and trauma Focused Mindfulness. During the therapeutic process the client and I will enter a dialogue that allows a safe place that provides compassion and freedom for the client to express thoughts and feelings. Therefore resulting in the formulation of a client centered treatment care plan. Treatment techniques include: Cognitive Reframing; Reality Testing; Relaxation techniques ; Mindfulness and Journaling.
The therapeutic journey is a partnership that is always respectful of the client and insuring that the client remains in control of the choices in the the treatment process. The therapeutic engagement seeks to result in the client reaching optimal functioning relative to their unique and best self.
