About Sylvia Lee

I am licensed in Wisconsin with 18 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, lgbt-related issues, coping with grief and loss, & intimacy related issues. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.
Many clients find it helpful to have an objective and trusted listener. Someone they can talk with and receive support from without fear of judgment. I offer a comfortable and private setting for you to settle in and talk about your concerns. Maybe you are having some feelings and thoughts that scare you or maybe you are under a lot of stress or grieving a significant loss. The thought of change is usually more overwhelming than the actual change and I am here to help you through that.
I identify as a black, female therapist who is part of the LGBTQIA+ community and I am passionate about serving people from all cultural backgrounds and ages. I enjoy partnering with clients to help them take ownership of their journey and empower them on their road to healing. I strive to support individuals and families in their efforts to heal and grow as well as become reconnected to their strengths and dreams.
Maybe you’re contemplating a change and not sure about your path; a new job, starting, ending, or recharging a relationship, resolving old hurts, or grieving the loss of someone special. Remember that the first step is always the hardest but you have already taken that step by starting the search for a therapist. Now it is time to make that appointment.

“Sylvia consistently shows she listens to me.”

“Sylvia has been a huge part of helping me with my struggles and has greatly helped my husband and I. I feel very comfortable telling her anything. One thing I love about Sylvia is she doesn’t take sides. She will talk about positives and negatives and how to work through those. She sees both sides of my husband and I and never once made either of us feel like the problem was just on one person.”

“Sylvia is a fantastic therapist. As a queer woman of color in Wisconsin, I really wanted a therapist who could relate to me and had the kind of expertise in serving marginalized groups. Sylvia has been nothing but wonderful. She truly cares about her clients and offers many ways to connect. I hope to work with Sylvia for a long time because she is professional, caring, and knows how to address your concerns using clear, practical tools and approaches.”

“Great lots of great ideas to help offers really good insights”

“She is a star. Im terrible at communication but she's on the ball and making sure she's sending stuff and getting me to respond and she's in depth with detail and easy going and I cant wait to see where I am in 6 months”

“Sylvia has been routinely supporting me through all sorts of ups and downs. I feel like I can do most anything with her on my team.”

“The most important thing with going into therapy for me was feeling understood. Sylvia is great at providing resources, guidance, and commitment to care to her clients like me.”

“Truly I do not know where I would be without Sylvia. I know I always have someone in my corner.”

“Kind and understanding yet straightforward and direct”

“Sylvia has provided a sense of reassurance from the very beginning; knowing I have her in my corner has significantly benefitted me, while also empowering me to make decisions on my own.”

“Love her!”

“From the limited time I've had with Sylvia she has been very helpful if getting down to my issues and giving it to me straight. I've been able to reflect on myself in a very honest way.”

“I love Sylvia SO much. I was a bit hesitant to try Better Help, as I never have participated in therapy like this. She's so attentive to me throughout the week when we're not in a video session, it's outstanding. She is funny, thoughtful, encouraging, and all-around a GREAT therapist. I am so happy!”
