Juanita Stokes

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia and in Washington, DC. I have a MA degree in Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University in Arlington, VA and a MA in Religious Studies from Howard university School of Divinity, Washington, DC. I have more than 10 years of experience in helping clients (Individuals and couples) with stress and anxiety, depression, relationship issues, coping with grief and loss, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. I take a person-centered approach to therapy to help the client increase self-awareness, respecting the individuality and uniqueness of each client. I believe self-awareness is key to staying on top of your typical reactions to specific events, challenges, and people. As a retired US Government, GS-15 Deputy Director, I am also familiar with workforce issues. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
