About Carol Gross

Hi, I look forward to meeting you. I truly believe all people are amazing and I’ve focused my life work towards psychology, human behavior and data analysis. I have more than 20 years of experience serving people who struggle with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, addiction, turama, anger management, ADHD, OCD, ASD, grief, hospice, and many other mental and behavioral problems.

I am not new to living and learning or growing. I am familiar with pain…..although I know I dislike pain , in fact I often declare that “I’m allergic to pain because I know I don’t like it “, however I have learned that it is through pain I’ve actually gained the most happiness and peace. I am a professional with dual licenses…..a licensed clinical social worker and a licensed behavior analyst ……who started out professionally as a computer system analyst.

Because of my own pain, experiences and education I’ve become more and more into Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) therapy a fairly recent Cognitive Behavioral Approach……it’s something I’ve found has severed me well and has been the most useful to others I’ve been blessed to engage with on our journey here.

When we are able to notice our own discomfort we are more motivated to make effective and meaningful changes in our behaviors that will lead us to a more meaningful and joyful life. Growing pains are part of the process but can lead us to growth and the ability to identify and focus on what we, our own self knows is true for us…..what we value (self as context).

My goal is to help you recognize what your pain is trying to tell you, discover what strategies can help you live through that pain….anxiety, depression….by increasing your behaviors of copping……mindfulness, focus …….. that will serve you and increase your psychological flexibility. I will often use the ACT Matrix to help “sort “ things out as a tool on our journey together. I would be delighted to take this journey with you and I look forward to meeting you and learning more about what you would like to achieve.

“Carol is a down to earth therapist who listens, advises and does all in her power to help me.”

“Carol is FANTASTIC!! Such a great listener and is very wise with her advice”

“I have nothing but praise for Carol. She has helped me immensely through a difficult career transition, parenting a spirited teenage boy and dealing with my husband's midlife crisis and potential collapse of my marriage. She has helped me rediscover myself, set boundaries and accept what I can not change. I feel so grateful for her!”

“Her knowledge and experience helps her see through to the points that matter when we feel like we are in a cloud. Very helpful and insightful.”

“She listens and gives me sound advice.”

“I’ve been speaking with Carol since December and I can’t say enough about how much she has helped me. We had a really big break through our last session where she was helping me with coping with triggers. Things that I don’t think I know how to do all the time. I usually respond to things I don’t like with anger or tears or avoid it. She showed me how I can be present, set boundaries, and keep myself safe.”

“Carol has gone above and beyond to help me. She's there for me EVERYtime I have reached out, she's kind and compassionate and looks at things in a perspective I had never thought of. I really like her, I don't think anyone can go wrong with her. Thank you Carol”

“Carol Gross is very educated in her field and has a plethora of knowledge and tools that have helped me tremendously in understanding my mind and working towards psychological freedom and flexibility with my anxieties. She is very active and quick to respond to my messages, one of my favorite features about Better Help. So, I can write her a message when I'm feeling anxious or overwhelmed or just need to get some feelings out, and she always responds quickly. And she takes true care and time during our video sessions for my needs and is very supportive.”

“Carol has done an amazing job of being there for me through one of the most difficult phases of my life. She is willing to talk any time of the day and is invested in helping me. She has been an answer to my prayers and those of my family.”

“Carol is an extremely compassionate person and a great listener. She has taught me many techniques to handle difficult and stressful situations in my life. I always look forward to my sessions with her. She is definitely doing great work and is contributing in making this world a better place by helping people that need her expertise. She values humans more than money. My experience with my past therapist has not been so great, they were stingy with their words of advice and time. Carol is not in this for money, she genuinely cares and wants to help people. Carol makes me feel like I matter. She’s a wonderful human being. I would definitely recommend her 100% as she is excellent in what she does. I am very happy to have found her and i searched for a long time. Thank you Carol, god bless you.”

“I have tried many therapists over the years and always end up leaving their service because I never felt like I was getting the help I needed. Carol has changed all of that. She is an incredible therapists, super responsive, and I know that she actually cares about me as a person and not just another client. That means EVERYTHING. Her personality is one that really fits with mine, which helps tremendously. I can’t begin to articulate how helpful she has been in helping me understand and manage my “demons” if you will. I would and have recommended her to others. If this were Yelp, I’d give her 6 stars. ;)”

“Carol has a wealth of experience and gets to the heart of issues quickly. She is kind and funny and extremely supportive. I highly recommend her.”

“Carol is very understanding in what my goals are and her help with ideas to help me heal further from my trauma.”

“I love my therapist Carol Gross and stay on BetterHelp to keep her. I have reviewed her before. She is personable, understanding , professional and knows her stuff.”
