About Abigail Buteau

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Florida. I have 10 years experience working with clients in various stages of life. As a counselor I have worked with individuals who have had major mental health, substance abuse as well as some who were dual diagnosed. I have worked with children and families from the Foster Care system that have experienced abuse, abandonment, neglect and complex trauma. In addition to their trauma I have also worked with families and children to address their adoption related challenges. I have also had the experience of working with the elderly population and their family, working through the challenges of end of life decisions and coping with end of life illnesses.

As a counselor my approach is to work with the clients in a partnership to explore solutions to what the client identifies as their challenge. My goal is to work together with each client to build a safe and therapeutic environment. My therapeutic approach is solution focused while also allowing the client to lead the direction of the session.
