About Prof. Michael Feldler

Good day and allow me to introduce myself. My name is Michael H. Feldler, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a trained individual, family, group, trauma, and addiction specialist. I have over thirty-four years of experience working with children, adults, and family’s in a variety of settings. In addition to my clinical training, I have worked for the past fourteen years as an instructor and supervisor to students on both an undergraduate and graduate level in a college based mental health training clinic. I am skilled in psychodynamic, client-centered, REBT, CBT, DBT, inter-relational, motivational, and family modalities. I believe in the importance of listening to what is being said, recognizing the relevance of motivation towards healing, and providing a safe and secure space to relate both thoughts and feelings. I am a trained group therapist, skilled in teaching as well as conducting sessions for individuals with trauma, addiction, and identified as a sex offender. Often times what brings you into treatment or therapy is just the tip of the iceberg and with exploration we can work on both the direct causes as well as the underlying measures towards health and personal growth. The essence of life is to feel complete, reduce loneliness, and isolation, and ultimately minimize those influences that prevent us from being “the person(s) we want to be.” I look forward to hearing from you, establishing a positive and secure relationship and working on what brings you to a helping environment.

“Prof. Felder is intelligent, compassionate and keenly in tune with what a patient needs to connect via a remote session. He is professional, experienced and someone highly recommended if there is a lived experience that few would understand. He walks with his patients, seeks clarity, and makes sure they know, he is ethically, professionally and skillfully there. A great listener and translator of information., someone new to therapy will benefit from his level of support.”
