About Deborah Schnitzer

I have been a counselor for over twenty years.
I have taught as an adjunct instructor at the Graduate, Under-graduate, and Post Graduate levels. I love my job!
I am honored and thankful that my clients share their lives with me for a season. I have no magic wands to “fix” lives. I do, however have a wide variety of “tools” that I will teach you how to use in order to begin, or continue, your individual journey of growth and healing. Change, healing and growth do happen! I am privileged to have a front row seat to watch it every day!
I will treat you with respect, NO judgment, and honesty. I fully realize that you are the experts of your own lives.
If you are interested in the clinical specifics,
I use a wide variety of trauma informed modalities. Some are CBT, Schema Therapy, IFS, EFT, DBT, Solution focus therapy.

“Debbi is a fabulous counselor! She’s so caring and has truly helped my husband and I with our relationship. Thank you!”

“She's very caring and helps validate my feelings and organize my thoughts and emotions. She helps me visualize how to have a healthier lifestyle.”

“Debbie has helped me understand what's within my control and how to set better boundaries for myself. She taught me that my health and well being are under my control and I don't need to sacrifice them in order to be there for others.”

“Deb is a wonderful listener. She is the best at validating my emotions when I don’t really understand them, and she has taught me so many tools that I can use in my everyday life to navigate my emotional experiences right as they happen. She is great at asking the questions that will help me find the root of what I’m experiencing, and gently walks me through the process of clearing out the weeds that might be obstructing my view of reality. Deb is knowledgeable (both educationally and with her own life experiences), she’s personable, and she’s easy to confide in. I appreciate her ability to be boldly honest when I need to hear difficult things, and I appreciate her ability to be soft when I need gentle support. I’ve been to many therapists in my lifetime, and Deb is the only therapist I’ve ever known whom I actually look forward to chatting with every week!”

“Debbie was perfect for what I was going through. She gave me straight forward common sense advice that was extremely helpful for me and my adult children.”

“Debby is the best therapist I’ve had! Both in BetterHelp and outside. She listens and recalls back to previous conversations. She gives feedback that benefits me, even when it’s hard to hear. But she never judges. I feel safe and heard.”

“Deborah has been amazing, my path crossed with her during a very hard moment in my life. She listened to me without judging, she was always very thoughtful, she taught me a lot of things, and gave me a lot of tools to move in life. Thank you so much, it was a pleasure to work with you”

“Deborah is knowledgeable, understanding, compassionate and relatable. I truely appreciate our sessions.”
