About Joseph Youngblood

Hello, I am Joseph Youngblood, a licensed clinical mental health counselor and a former licensed clinical addictions specialist in North Carolina. I am retired from the US Navy and have traveled over much of the world while in the military and as a civilian learning to value differing cultures and views of the world. I have over thirty year’s clinical experience while working with military and civilian populations in the United States, Europe, and Asia. My approach to therapy is founded in Gestalt (Wholeness) and Individual Psychology theories. I am, however, educated, trained and experienced in many philosophies of personality development and treatment. I provide Mental and Behavioral health care for Depression; Anger; Phobias; Anxiety; PTSD; Stress Management; Relationships; and Family issues. I am a recovering alcoholic with over 40 years clean and sober, so I also provide counseling for Substance Abuse issues. For the past 16 years I have worked as a Military and Family Life counselor helping military families work through relationship struggles while coping with the stress of the ever-changing environment of military life during a time of war.
