About Chase Longnaker

Hello, My name is Chase Longnaker and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Kentucky. I am an experienced clinical professional with a demonstrated history of working in the mental health care industry. Some of my skill sets include leadership, provision of therapeutic services and mental health/ behavioral assessments to individuals and families experiencing PTSD, Major Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Suicide, Self-Harm, and Oppositional Defiance Disorder related symptoms. Crisis management and safety plan development, detailed treatment plan development, and organizational/ professional documentation skills in keeping detailed, confidential client records.

As a LMFT professional I have had the opportunity to counsel a diverse population of clients economically, geographically, and culturally. My primary focus has been working with children (ages 7 to 11), adolescents (ages 12-17), and young adults (ages 18+). In addition to working with these age groups I also have clinical experience working with adults, marital couples, and families. Recently I obtained my CFRC Certification through Academy Hour. This certification has prepared me to work with first responder individuals (police, fire fighters, EMT, and others), their families, and their communities in the state of Kentucky. As a mental health professional, one of my primary goals is to utilize empathetic, genuine, and evidence based counseling approaches to help provide impactful changes in individuals and families. My primary areas of clinical modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy , Solutions Focused Therapy, Bowenian Family Therapy, and Basic Level EMDR Therapy.

The clinical experience that I have obtained as a therapist has taught me that people are resilient and under the right circumstances and stressors have the desire and drive to change for the better. This resiliency and drive in people is where I find true passion and inspiration to serve as a mental health professional. Having the opportunity to guide clients to breakthrough moments is what makes me passionate about my job. This same passion is what also drives me to play a part in helping individuals and families process the past, heal in the present, and move towards a positive and meaningful future. I hope that this information provides you with a little insight into who I am on both a professional and personal level. Thank you, and I look forward to the opportunity to help both you and your family on your therapeutic journey.

“Chase is an amazing therapist!”

“Chase inspired confidence since he could direct me and suggested a plan of action that looked plausible to me !”

“Chase continues to be impactful in terms of my growth as a person while providing patience, guidance & encouragement to continue on in this life. Personally, I thought I was a lost cause, but Chase has shown me that is far from the truth. Behind the scenes, Chase is uber analytical & persistent in looking at all of the angles to find the root cause. Chase has never disappointed. He makes those 30 mins worth while.”

“Chase has changed my life. I have never been so supported by a therapist. Not only does he address my needs, but he also challenges me where I need to be challenged. Chase brings a level of comfort to our sessions that makes me feel at ease even in tough times and hard conversations. This balance has improved my life and mental well-being drastically. I am grateful that BetterHelp paired me with the best therapist for me.”

“I have learned a lot about myself through therapy with Chase. He listens to me explain situations that I think are minor and he delves deeper to the way I grew up It helps me understand why I do the things I do and react the way I do…and more importantly, how to overcome those traumatic experiences. I signed up for Better Help because of anxiety from being out of work for a long time because I didn’t know where else to turn. But in the process of working through that, Chase has helped me recognize things about my upbringing that impact the way I relate to the people around me that negatively impact the way I approach relationships that I never knew were issues. Now comes the hard work of learning to be a more healthy person, which is hard, but with Chase and Better Help I know I have the support I need while I learn.”

“I highly recommend Chase!”

“I've worked with a couple of other therapists that were randomly assigned to me through my EAP via Betterhelp, and Chase is far and away the most empathetic, grounded, well-spoken, and knowledgeable about the issues I'm struggling with (in particular, adult ADHD, trauma and anxiety, personally and professionally). He's the best therapist I've worked with and I appreciate his professionalism and empathetic style so much.”

“He’s a miracle worker!”

“He's so kind and patient, and at a time when I'm so desperate for comfort just knowing I've got someone on my side is really helpful.”

“A great therapy experience. Has helped me tremendously.”

“Simply the best”

“Therapy has been absolutely life changing and I am so thankful for better help & chase to help me get through these last few months.”

“Chase has helped me tremendously in just a few short months. I feel truly understood and have gained so much insight of layers of myself I never acknowledged. He has helped me become a more patient, thoughtful, forgiving person and that has improved all of my relationships - with my self, family, partner, friends and with all the people I work with.”

“Chase is a very good listener. He always gives me great advice. I wish I could talk to him every day. He has really helped me with some of my issues I have been dealing with and continues to help me. I have great confidence in him.”

“Chase is extremely professional, easy to talk to, and just a all around good guy. Only a few sessions in I feel changed and so excited to see where this all will take me. Being my first therapist I was super worried but he has erased those fears and I highly recommend him!”
