About Kiran Ahmed

Welcome! I’m excited you have decided to take this amazing first step in becoming your best self! My name is Kiran and I am here to help support and guide you on your journey. Many people have an idea about what therapy is and what I like to tell my clients is that therapy can mean many things to different people. Some use therapy as a way to learn how to live again after a traumatic experience and others may feel stuck and need some guidance. Whatever therapy means to you, I will support you by meeting you where you are at and then we can go from there.

To tell you more about myself, I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor is Sociology from the University of Houston. I later attended Prairie View A&M and received my Masters of Arts degree in Counseling. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (#68646) and have been working in the mental health and substance abuse field for about 10 years. I have worked in both inpatient hospitals and outpatient settings doing person-centered individual and group therapy. I have experience working with all demographics including children, adolescents, adults and families that struggle with many different issues, including but not limited to, depression, anxiety, bipolar, stress management, grief, trauma, abuse, family conflict, relationship issues, anger management, behavioral problems and other mental health concerns.

My approach to clients is simple, meet them where they are. I use multiple types of theoretical approaches to make you feel the most comfortable. I believe you know what you want and need and its my job to help you get there. I am not here to judge you or lecture you, I am simply the support and guidance you may need to get to where you want to be.

“I have been working with Kiran for over a year and it has been amazing. I have made progress in ways I had never been able to before with therapy. She always makes me feel heard, validated and encourages me to be the best healthiest version of myself. She always brings an eye opening perspective to our sessions that challenge me to break out of rather unhealthier habits or thought patterns I’ve picked along the way. I honestly can say since our treatment began I have become a more confident, emotionally strong and calmer person thanks to her professional advice and knowledge. I have reached milestones I never thought possible when we first started. I am grateful for her support and help.”

“She is very understanding and helpful. She is able to find the important stuff whenever I may overexplain something more than necessary at times and also does a great job of answering questions.”

“I've always been intimidated by therapy, but Kiran makes me feel very comfortable and secure enough to open up about myself. I'm excited and hopeful for what's to come.”

“Kiran is very empathetic and always tries to build you up and help where she can. So far I'm actually very happy to have her as a therapist. I just think it's a bit of a shame that she doesn't make video or phone calls, only live chat sessions, but I still have the feeling that I'm making some progress and at least someone is hearing and understanding me.”

“Kiran is an excellent listener and provides many helpful therapies for those dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship problems, etc., and has been very helpful during the time I’ve been her client.”

“Kiran is attentive and encouraging throughout the session. She never judge and always able to pick up positive aspects that I missed out about myself. It feels good to have her support on the journey of healing myself.”

“Ever since Kiran came into my life, my life has gone better. Although life contains challenges and sometimes disappointment, sadness, stress, anxiety, and problems are inevitable, I know I will be able to deal with what I am facing better after talking to Kiran.
She had helped me get through some toughest phases and also helped me with learning to incorporate structured ways to deal with anxiety. I am thankful to her support.”

“Kiran is very perceptive and help me with my personal struggles”

“One of the best therapists I have ever had. Very patient, understanding and kind. She is a really good listener, engages with the patient and is always trying to find ways to help you, support you and guide you through difficult situations. Gave me a new perspective to things I had been dealing with for years, and most importantly never judges or makes you feel uncomfortable for feeling or being a certain way. Very clear and straightforward goals/treatment plan. Really gets to know the patient and their past, I found sessions to be very helpful and liberating.”

“I have been working with Kiran for exactly a year, we are now doing some v v deep EMDR therapy and she makes me feel safe, supported and understood and most importantly truly heard. I appreciate my sessions so much. I also would not be able to afford the sessions if it wasn’t for the discount you provide for income . Many thanks
Jyoti”

“Overall a positive experience. My first real experience with therapy and Kiran made it very digestible. I am glad to have had this experience when I did.”

“Kiran has a way of quickly targeting issues and figuring out ways to change behavior that are comfortable for me. She really meets me where I am and works with me to make small changes, rather than huge ones. She has been so impactful and I have had several "breakthroughs" in just a couple of months of sessions.”

“Kiran is supporting me so much with my past Trauma in such a kind, considerate and safe way. I trust her 100% in helping me on my healing journey”

“Kiran advice is very thoughtful”

“Kiran is genuinely lovely and supportive, always going the extra mile for me. Wonderfully warm, kind and happy to help with any issues.”
